Uzbekistan Visa

Visa free nationalities

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine DO NOT NEED A VISA to enter the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Citizens of the following eight countries do not need visa to travel to Uzbekistan for up to 30 days: Israel, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Tajikistan and Turkey.

Uzbekistan Visa Support / Letter of Invitation (LOI)

Visa support (letter of invitation, LOI) is a document required to obtain tourist visa to Uzbekistan. LOI application is prepared by a travel agency and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Who does not need LOI?

Passport holders of these countries apply for tourist visa directly at Uzbekistan diplomatic missions. However, LOI might be requested if an application is submitted outside of the country of citizenship.

The minimum package should include hotel booking, domestic airline/train tickets, car transfers, and one city tour.

How to apply for e-tourist visa online? (Application form)

You can apply online the official e-visa application form for applying tourist visa at e-visa.gov.uz.
This application form is valid for all Uzbekistan Embassies and Consulates.


To get a visa support letter, please do the following:

  1. Book a tour package;
  2. Email us a good quality scan of your passport (full page that clearly shows all text, photo, signature, bar code);
  3. Email us a scan of a letter with the company seal from your employer confirming your employment and position (retired and housewives do not need to provide a letter);
  4. Flight tickets itinerary or flight reservation form (required only if visa is to be obtained upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport).

Where to apply for Uzbekistan Visa?

You can apply for a visa where Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate exist. Please note that required documents and visa fees may differ based on your citizenship and where you apply.

Visa at the airport

It is possible to obtain a visa at the international arrivals lounge of Tashkent International Airport, if both of the following conditions are met:

  1. There is no Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate in the country, where you are originating your flight to Uzbekistan;
  2. Connecting flight to Uzbekistan, in the country where Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate exists, does not provide enough time to obtain a visa.

Visa application requirements:

  1. Uzbek invitation letter (LOI);
  2. Valid passport;
  3. Complete an application form;
  4. 1 passport-size photo;
  5. Fee, payable on collection of visa;
  6. Stamped, self-addressed envelope,
    if applying by post.

This application form is valid for all Uzbekistan Embassies and Consulates.

 

About e-visa

When passing the State Border of the Republic of Uzbekistan and while staying in the country, foreign citizen must present a valid travel document (passport) and electronic visa in printed or electronic form. Electronic visa is issued in accordance with a valid travel document certifying the identity, and valid only upon presentation of such document. In case if there is a discrepancy in the information in the issued electronic visa and travel document certifying the identity of the foreign citizen, the electronic visa is considered invalid. Foreign citizens are responsible for the information presented in the request for obtaining electronic visa. When applying for electronic visa, foreign citizens with dual or multiple citizenship must choose the travel document of the country, using which they plan to enter the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The result of processing of the request to be sent to the applicant’s email address.

About the web-portal

The official portal of the electronic visa of the Republic of Uzbekistan operates at www.e-viza.gov.uz. The portal operates in three languages: English, Uzbek and Russian. Processing of electronic visa via web-portal is carried out in two stages: making request and providing response. Filling the request for processing of electronic visa to the Republic of Uzbekistan is carried out in the following order:

In the section «Country», applicants need to select country of nationality, type of the travel document and purpose of visit;

In the section «Dates» applicants need to select period of stay in the Republic of Uzbekistan;

In the section «Personal data» applicants need to put in their biographical information;

In the section «Photo and passport», applicants need to upload facial photo and a copy of the travel document main data page;

In the section «Activation», applicants need to put in their email address.

In the section «Payment», applicants need to make payment of the consular fee via the international payment system Visa.

If, according to international agreements concluded by the Republic of Uzbekistan, a foreign citizen has the right to visit the Republic of Uzbekistan on a visa-free basis, the treatment process is interrupted by the portal until the moment of payment and notifies the user that there is no need to issue a visa. If the country of the foreign citizen is not included in the list of countries with a simplified procedure for issuing a visa, the system notifies the user about the need to contact the appropriate foreign institution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Entering of personal data is carried out in English according to the data of the valid travel document with which the foreign citizen plans to enter the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The uploaded face image must comply with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s DOC9303. An electronic copy of the data page of the travel document must be readable (the file size is not more than 500 Kb). Activation of application for registration of an electronic visa is made by entering a digital code sent to the e-mail address of a foreign citizen. The consular fee is paid with the Visa card. After payment of the state duty, a message on the successful acceptance into the processing of its data is sent to the e-mail address of the foreign citizen. The web portal provides the ability to track the status of the call. If a positive decision is taken to issue an electronic visa, the generated electronic visa will be sent to the e-mail address of the foreign citizen in pdf format. In case of refusal to issue an electronic visa to the e-mail address of a foreign citizen, a message is sent on the need to apply to the foreign office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
