Plus how to prepare for the biggest shopping day of the year.
It’s that time of year again. It’s finally become fall and most stores are decorated for Christmas. That can only mean one thing … Black Friday is right around the corner! After you get the essentials for your next Friendsgiving, get ready for an influx of sales by firing up your printers, because Black Friday sales are officially here.
With Christmas about a month away, it’s now time to get your friends, family, and loved ones gifts. But come Friday, November 24, you’ll have to act quickly, because Amazon deeply discounts items through Gold Box Deals, Lightning Deals, and Deals of the Day, which frequently sell out.
Because we’re inching closer to Black Friday with each passing day, we thought we would answer some questions, give some tips, and assemble a list of what you can probably expect from Amazon come Black Friday. We know you’re excited for all the deals to be had on Black Friday 2017, so we’ll be updating this post as they’re announced!
When Is Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday is on November 24, so we’ll have four weeks and two days between Black Friday and Christmas. It’s worth noting that some doorbuster deals start as early as Thanksgiving day. And don’t forget about Cyber Monday, which also has major deals, and falls on November 27 this year.
How to Score Big Deals
Believe it or not, you may have already missed some killer savings. Amazon started its “Countdown to Black Friday” sales event on November 1, where the retail giant offers dozens of new deals each day.
We recommend an Amazon Prime membership to get access to the best deals. A membership costs $99 a year (or $49 per year for students). Prime members get free two-day shipping, discounts, exclusive deals, and early access to Lightning Deals. Other perks include access to Amazon’s streaming music and video services — Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Prime Music — and cloud storage for your digital photos.
This Year’s Hot Items
Hasbro released a list in July of what it thinks will be the most popular toys come December. Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Toys”R”Us have also released their Hot Holiday Toy Lists online. You should study up and start shopping early, so you don’t have another Hatchimal or NES Classic Edition situation on your hands this year.
If you’re looking for some gift ideas, ho ho ho-ly Christmas do we have you covered! Our staff has put together a full gift gallery to cover everyone on your shopping list. To break it down even further, we’ve created guides for all your loved ones, including gifts for Mom, Dad, grandparents, friends, and even fur babies! We’ve also created gift guides for kids, teens, techies, gamers, guys, gals, and readers, and we have some stocking-stuffer suggestions, too — if you’re looking for some smaller items. And if you’re strapped for cash or are a Secret Santa, we’ve hand-selected some gifts under $20, $10, and even $5.
